Recommend Alhora, get paid for it

1. What you earn

Flat amounts, not a percentage of something you would have to work out.

• £18 when someone you referred buys an annual plan.
• £28 when someone you referred buys a lifetime licence.
• £20 if they buy a lifetime licence at the discounted founder price, while that offer lasts.
• Nothing on the monthly plan, on AI add-ons, or on Publisher seats.

There is no cap, no tier to climb and no target to hit. The tenth referral pays exactly what the first one did.

2. What your readers get

10% off their first annual plan or lifetime licence, applied automatically when they follow your link. There is no code to type and nothing for them to remember — if they arrived through you, the discount is on the checkout page when they get there.

The discount applies once, to their first eligible purchase. It does not apply to the monthly plan, and it does not stack with the founder price, which is already the largest discount we offer.

3. How the link works

Your link lives on your referrals page and looks like alhora.app/r/XXXXXXXX. Share it anywhere you would recommend us: a newsletter, a video description, a writing group, a workshop handout.

• We remember the link for 30 days after someone clicks it. If they sign up in that time, they are yours.
• Once they have signed up through your link, a purchase within 30 days of signing up is credited to you.
• First click wins. If someone arrives through your link and later through somebody else's, the credit stays with you — you did the persuading.
• You cannot refer yourself. Signing up through your own link credits nobody.

4. How you get paid

This is the part most programmes are vague about, so here it is in order.

1. A sale happens. The commission appears on your referrals page as pending straight away, so you can see it coming.
2. 30 days pass. Our refund window is 14 days; we wait 30 so that a refund asked for at the last minute cannot arrive after we have paid you for the sale. At 30 days the commission becomes ready to pay.
3. You reach £50. That is three annual referrals, or two lifetime ones. Below £50 the balance simply rolls over to the following month — nothing expires.
4. We pay you. Payouts go out monthly, within the first ten days of the month, covering everything that became ready to pay by the end of the previous month.

We pay by PayPal or Wise, to an email address you enter yourself on your referrals page. We do not ask for bank details: an email we can send a payment to is the least we can hold and still pay you, so it is all we hold.

If a purchase is refunded or charged back before we have paid you for it, that commission is cancelled. You will see it on your referrals page rather than having it quietly disappear.

5. Tax

We pay commission gross and deduct nothing. What you earn here is your own income and it is yours to declare — we are not your employer and this is not employment. If you are VAT-registered, invoice us and we will settle the invoice instead.

Commission is calculated on the plan's listed price as shown on our pricing page. If the tax treatment of that price changes, we may restate the basis the commission is calculated on, and we will tell affiliates before it applies to anything.

6. What is not allowed

Short list, and none of it is unusual.

• No bidding on our name. Do not buy search ads on "Alhora" or close variants. You would be charging us for traffic that was already coming to us.
• No coupon or deal sites. This programme is for people who recommend Alhora to authors who trust them, not for pages that harvest the last click before checkout.
• No spam, in any medium, and no unsolicited bulk email.
• Do not pretend to be us. Do not claim to be Alhora staff, do not register domains or accounts that suggest you are, and do not describe features we do not have.
• No self-referral, including through a second account, a family member's account, or an account you control.

Where a referral looks manufactured rather than earned, we will hold the commission and ask about it before paying. If we are satisfied it was manufactured, we will cancel it, and we may close the referral link.

7. The rest of it

• Anyone with an Alhora account can take part. You do not need a plan, and you do not need to apply.
• We can change the rates, and if we do, the new rate applies to sales made after the change. Anything already earned is paid at the rate it was earned at.
• We can end the programme or close an individual link. If we do, we pay what has already been approved.
• We do not tell you who signed up through your link. You get the numbers, not the names — they came to us through you, but they are not your customer.
• This programme sits alongside our Terms, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.

8. Start

Your link already exists. Open your referrals page to copy it and to add the address you want to be paid at. If you do not have an account yet, create one — it is free, and the referral link comes with it.
